The springtime is my favorite time of the year. I am studying Afro-Carribean cultures. I am curently focused on the Creoles of Lousiana and the Carribean. Additionally, the island of Cuba has been a recent focus of study. I believe there is much to learn from the islands and their relationship to Louisiana lifestyle. Our home has become refuge for our relatives still in New Orleans. All that remains is the cleanup after the limb and leaf debris from the storm.
When is the Festial Acadiens this year. Hopefully, I will be there if it is not a football conflict.

Festival Acadiens is Oct 10-12 in Lafayette's Girard Park. A fiddle playing friend up here (Seattle) says it's wonderful. Here's a link to the web site:
