Mr. McDaniels was a retired fire cheif for the city of New Orleans. He also served on the Jazz and Heritage Foundation for many years. Ms. Wein was known as the Mother of Jazz Fest. She was the wife of George Wein, one of the early founders of Jazz Fest.
