Jazz Fest 2009

On the south side of the festival grounds is an area dedicated to specific types of music and arts. This is a hard stand that is perfect for the location of and viewing of Gospel music, The Blues and Jazz in comfort. These venues are specifically built to handle amplified sounds. There are large seating arrangements with an overhead misting system, perfect for the climate in this area during early Springtime. Even in early spring, warm weather is common during the festival. These improvements are less than ten years old. It is a very good improvement over the days when the Jazz Tent was nothing more that an Army tent with not much to offer in the area of creature comforts. The Jazz and Heritage Foundation has done a very impressive job of securing the comforts for attendees of these venues. There is also a growing food and vending area between the Jazz and Blues Tents. There is also a covered area with many tables for the comfort of enjoying the food that is so attractive during this festival. Additionally, there is a large number of relief stations in this area for those that consume large quantities of liquids.
