Security and Vigilance: Jazz Fest 2009

I have never known this gentleman's name. I will make it a point to visit with him at the next festival. He is part of the security that is always visible and working inside the tents. I've seen this gentleman work the aisles from the WWOZ Jazz Tent to the Blues Tent for the number of years I've been regular at the festival. He takes his job very serious and most people are annoyed by his activity. His job is very vital, as without his presence there would be a serious safety concern for the attendees of the festival. His primary duty is to keep the aisles clear of traffic. Most attendees that don't have a seat for the performances choose to stand or sit in the aisles. This guy walks the tent constantly to keep the areas clear if ever the need arises for evacuation of the tent. That is a strong concern for fire safety and general movement. In the function of his duties, he is not very well appreciated. I appreciate what he does.
